If you love watching professional riders perform wickedly twisted and slightly insane tricks like Seat Grabs, Cliff Hangers, Kiss of Death, Back Flips and Super Back Flips, you won’t want to miss the Freestyle Motocross (FMX) World Tour. These intrepid riders will roar into the Penticton’s South Okanagan Events Centre Saturday for an evening of fierce and extreme competition as they battle for the NITRO FMX World Tour Championship title.

FMX was formed especially to tour Canada, USA, Mexico and select European countries. It brings together eight famed riders from Canada and the States. Reception to the show has been amazing, with lots of high energy crowds keen to meet their favorite competitors, some even waiting in line-ups as long as two hours after the show for autographs and the chance to share a high-five.

Some believe the origins of this sport go all the way back to 1906 and the first-time trials, run by the Auto-Cycle Club of Great Britain. However this particular brand of FMX is more rooted in the 1990s. Since its inception it’s continually challenged riders to push themselves further, to defy gravity and danger. Fans of the sport will admire how far they’ve pushed the sport and will probably recognize the following names: Billy Kohut, Nick Dunne, Chad Bowman and brothers, Dylan McMorran, and Lance McMorran. All known for redefining the limits of this sport. One of the main attractions is female rider Kassie Boone from Belmont Ontario. Kassie, who began racing competitively at sixteen, is one of two female riders in the profession.

Those who purchased advance tickets are invited to a Pit Party from 4:30-5:30 p.m. where they’ll have a chance to mingle with the stars of the FMX World Tour, take photos, and receive autographs. A very rare opportunity.

Ticket range between $19.00 and $39.00 for adults and $10.00 for children twelve-and-under. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Valley First Box Office (at the SOEC), over the phone at 1-877-763-2849 or online at ValleyFirstTix.com.

Warning, this event is not for the faint of heart. Creators of the show guarantee Back Flips, Super Back Flips and other explosive displays at this full throttle event. So come prepared to be wowed. This is the kind of action that you don’t want to miss.
