UpBeat – The Central Okanagan Music Strategy Summit

Announcing the Central Okanagan’s Public Music Summit: UpBeat

The Central Okanagan Music Strategy team (COMS) is pleased to announce public registration is now open for the virtual UpBeat Music Strategy Summit.

This is a fully-inclusive online event, welcoming all interested members of the public. The goal is to inspire great ideas and stimulate conversations among residents and industry
representatives who care about the future of music in the Central Okanagan.

The UpBeat Summit will be happening virtually every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:00 pm starting Thursday, April 8 and ending Thursday, May 6. Tickets are available at a cost of $10, and provide unlimited access to the entire roster of 9 sessions.

Topics for each session are based on themes COMS has learned matter most to local residents and industry professionals alike, including performance venues, access and inclusion, artist
growth and development, audience development, and partnership and collaboration within the industry itself. We learnt what mattered through public engagement in 2020, with perspectives
from over 1100 local participants. Details on the research can be found at www.creativeokanagan.com/music-strategy/

COMS is thrilled to host several prominent local and regional speakers and panel members as part of these sessions, including: Carol Colpitts, Mitch Carefoot, Tega Ovie, Bryce Traister, Ben Klick, Robyn Stewart and many more soon to be announced!
