Darcy Nybo’s, a local author and freelance writer, has organized a fund raiser for the West Kelowna/Central Okanagan Foodbank.

Nybo will be at the Artisan Holiday Market (Pizzamoreh) at 100 – 2565 Main Street (across from the Cherry Pit) from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday December 11 and Sunday December 12 to sign copies of her books.

Plus, she’s offering her children’s book, Emma Jean Finds a Friend, free with a suggested donation of $5 to the food bank.

Nybo will have her recent novel, Reluctant Angel, at the market, as well as her children’s book, Bark! Swat! Crunch! and two short story collections, Read My Shorts and Okanagan Tall Tales.

“Aside from giving away Emma Jean Finds A Friend with foodbank donations, I’m also donating $1 from every book sold to the food bank. This is a rough time of year for so many people, and this year with COVID, fires and floods, it’s even worse. I know the foodbank can buy three times as much than I can with the money given, so donating cash from sales is a no-brainer.”

People who have already purchased Nybo’s books at Mosaic or online are invited to come down and get her to personalize a short message to the intended recipient of any of her books.

“This little market is full of great people whose passion is to create wonderful products. Come down for the book signing/fundraiser and look around. As it’s located in Pizzamoreh, the smells in there are divine. You can pick up a couple books, a few presents, as well as frozen pizza, lasagna or soups. It’s a one stop shopping spot!”

If you can’t make it for the book signing, the books and all the other goodies will be there seven days a week, now through to December 22, 2021. The market is open weekdays from 11 am to 4 pm and weekends from 9 am to 4 pm.
