Tickets are on sale for the local beer festival featuring over 30 of our backyard breweries & cideries.
The event runs from 1pm-7pm downtown at City Park, and will also include food trucks, a retail market, music from DJ Invizible & Meems, and games to keep the good times rolling.
Thick as Thieves Entertainment, the group producing the event, is also responsible for other local events such as Denim on the Diamond, AltiTunes & Island Time.
When the “Great Okanagan Beer Festival” recently canceled for the fourth year in a row, the duo Kurt & Mitch decided to take it upon themselves. “It’s crazy to think that with all of the great breweries and cideries we have in this city, we don’t have an event dedicated to showcasing their amazing brews!” states Kurt.
“Every great city needs a beer fest, right? The concept is intentionally pretty simple – Kelowna Beer Fest is an opportunity to reconnect with friends, soak up some Okanagan spring weather, and share some laughs while supporting our local brewery businesses.” says Mitch.
What makes Kelowna Beer Fest different from what has been to Kelowna previously?
Thick as Thieves Entertainment are a local business producing this event, the focus is on supporting local breweries/cideries and a portion of every ticket sold goes towards the Central Okanagan Brewers Association (COBrA), a new local initiative created to unify the brewery community.
“We’re excited to be a part of a locally produced beer fest with a focus on showcasing Kelowna’s breweries & cideries. The local brewery scene has exploded in the past few years; so it’ll be a great chance for people to get a taste of Kelowna.” says Kyle Nixon, owner & operator of BNA Brewing Co.
