FIRESIDE SESSIONS ANNOUNCES 2017 LINEUPKelowna’s Only Winter Folk Fest Returns January 29

Kelowna, BC (Nov. 29, 2016) – The air is getting cooler and winter is around the corner but Fireside Sessions will be heating things up during an otherwise dreary, quiet month in Kelowna. The fourth installment of the winter folk festival will return to BNA Sunday, January 29, 2017. From 2PM until midnight, festival goers will enjoy a day filled with live music, locally-sourced eats, great prizing from local sponsors and, of course, plenty  of cheers’ing with friends over a pint of BNA’s tasty craft beer.

Following the success of last year’s sold out event; the festival is back again featuring a solid music lineup including Kytami, I M U R, Wild Son, Windmills, JP Maurice, DJ Madwax, The Bonsais, Le Markhor, Paper Trails, My Kind Of Karma, Tiger Moon, The Maple Keys, Kris Falco, Elk the Moose Hayden Mac, Mitchel Wolos and Steve Romaniuk. What started as an intimate gathering of friends and musicians in festival creator/curator Aaron DeSilva’s living room has since grown to a full day event at one of Kelowna’s top venues showcasing a variety of local artists alongside acts from across the province. As an active member of the local music community, DeSilva saw a void waiting to be filled during Kelowna’s winter months, “I’ve always felt January and February can be a drag for a lot of people in the Okanagan. Fireside Sessions offers a chance for inspiring members of the community to come together and create a positive light during this time of year. It’s also a lot of fun!”Fireside Sessions aims to continue to grow the festival and this year will see the addition of free performances by local artists during the day at Bean Scene’s downtown location (371 Bernard Ave.) as well as an exclusive after party at Kelowna’s most vibrant downtown locale, Hotel Zed (limited entry available for guests staying at the hotel on the day of the event – discounted rates available soon).A limited amount of early bird tickets are now available at Moksha Yoga (#206-2900 Pandosy St.) for $40 and the BNA tasting room. Once early bird tickets are sold out, prices will rise to $50.Ticket quantities are limited and purchasers are urged not to wait to guarantee their spot at the 2017 festival. Last year’s event sold out very quickly and is expected to do the same this year. For full festival info, visit the Fireside Sessions website.

Brad Krauza - Publisher
Publisher and CEO. First & foremost, father, son, brother and uncle. I am also a huge music fan, promoter and marketing & promotions maniac. As a fulltime musician for the past 35 years myself (yikes, that’s a long time!), I’ve come to appreciate the fact that I am able to perform and sing for people and in return, them enjoy it as much as I do. There is something to be said for that exchange of energy and good vibes that live music brings to all, from the stage to the seats, there is nothing like it and I so look forward to feeling that again when we are out of this crazy mess we are in. Music is needed desperately in everyone’s lives. The goal is to reach out and bring some awareness and light into the music scene by featuring their new music, events and in general, some light into the changes we’ve all had to adjust to in 2020. We all feel the strain in every aspect of these changes and are going to try to do our best to fill our cups up with some fantastic local music while many so of us hang on through this bumpy ride we are on. ? Making an effort to change our own thoughts and habits, can strike a chord mentally and change us along with our communities lives. Be safe and…let’s ROCK N ROLL!
