Cabaret the musical, presented by New Vintage Theatre
Okanagan residents will be transported to sultry underground Berlin, circa 1931, in New Vintage Theatre’s spectacular upcoming production of the Tony and Oscar award-winning musical Cabaret.
Featuring a live band, led by Emcee Neville Bowman, Cabaret is the story of an English showgirl named Sally Bowles (Lyndsey Wong) and a young American writer (Josh Richardson) who begin an unlikely romance in the dangerous times before Hitler takes power in Germany. Bowles is the star act in the infamous seedy Kit Kat Club where “the girls are beautiful, the boys are beautiful, even the band is beautiful”.
This must-see production features incredible musicianship, choreography by Kelowna Ballet’s Kurt Werner and fabulous award-winning artists such as Juno award winner Julie Masi.
Adult audiences are encouraged to dress up in prohibition style and come out to the Cabaret for an unforgettable night of theatre.
Cabaret runs June 3-12 at the Mary Irwin Theatre, Rotary Centre for the Arts.
