2017 FESTIVALS – Tall Tree Music Festival announces the fourth annual ‘Play Tall Tree Contest’

For Immediate ReleaseMay 4, 2017Victoria BC: Tall Tree Music Festival announces the fourth annual ‘Play Tall Tree Contest’ Tall Tree Music Festival in partnership with Do250 are hosting the annual ‘Play Tall Tree Contest’ and will be accepting artist applications between Thursday, May 4, through to Friday,May 12, 2017.The Play Tall Tree Contest is a reflection of Festival’s mandate to discover and develop local and emerging artists. A panel of local music industry professionals will receive and consider all applications, and select 15 artists to be announced to the public, where they will gain valuable exposure—and have their music heard by the community-at-large. Following the success of last year’s live showcase, Tall Tree Music Festival and Do250 will co-host the 2017 Finale Showdown at Sugar Nightclub where this year’s finalists will perform to decide the winner.All artists are invited to submit their application through Tall Tree’s Artist Submission Form by visiting http://do250.com/p/playtalltree

HOW IT WORKS THIS YEAR:

STAGE 1: ARTIST SUBMISSIONSMAY 4TH – MAY 12TH | Artists invited to submit their application, along with samples of their music through the form below. Festival curators and a panel of local music industry professionals will select 15 artists to proceed.STAGE 2: MUSIC FANS HAVE THEIR SAYMAY 14TH – MAY 19TH | The 15 finalists are announced to the public, with a 5 day period where fans can vote from on which artist they’d want to see make it to the Tall Tree main stage this year.STAGE 3: LIVE SHOWCASEJUNE 2ND | The final four artists will have an opportunity to play at Sugar Nightclub in front of a live audience, and a panel of music industry professionals.INTRODUCING THE WILD CARD:As part of our commitment to support emerging artists through the Play Tall Tree Contest, one of the four finalists will be selected directly by our jury of local music industry professionals, with the other three chosen by public vote. We feel this will allow a new artist the opportunity to grow their fan base and be heard during the live showcase!2017 marks the eight annual Tall Tree Music Festival held atop Browns Mountain in beautiful Port Renfrew B.C.
