What’s Up? The Local Music Scene EP #2 Featuring Lucky Monkey & Proper Man!

The K Wake Up with Brad & Alysha on K96.3

October 2nd, 2020

Brad Krauza – Publisher

As a fulltime musician for the past 35 years myself (yikes, that’s a long time!), I’ve come to appreciate the fact that I am able to perform and sing for people and in return, enjoy it as much as I do. There is something to be said for that exchange of energy and good vibes that live music brings to all, from the stage to the seats, there is nothing like it and I so look forward to feeling that again when we are out of this crazy mess we are in. Music is needed desperately in everyone’s lives.

The goal here from these episodes on Gonzo Okanagan & K96.3 Kelowna’s Classic Rock is to reach out and bring some awareness and light into the local Central Okanagan Music Scene by featuring their new music, events and in general, some light into the changes we’ve all had to adjust to in 2020. We all feel the strain in every aspect of these changes and are going to try to do our best to fill our cups up with some fantastic local music while many so of us hang on through this bumpy ride we are on. 😉

Making an effort to change our own thoughts and habits, can strike a chord mentally and change us along with our communities lives. Be safe and…let’s ROCK N ROLL!

Want to submit your upcoming events or music? We would love to hear it! Please send to brad@gonzookanagan.com.

LOCAL NEW MUSIC FEATURES!

 Lucky Monkey

https://www.luckymonkeymusic.com/

Kassidy Hritzuk-Vocals | Dylan Losell-Bass | Ryan Zeleznik-Guitar | Josh Evans-Drums

I always thought these guys were a great local cover band and really super nice guys and now I find out that they are writing and producing their own music and videos! That’s one of the good things that has come from Covid-19. It’s forced most of us in the music industry to refocus on other ways of being creative.

The band has had to pass on many small social distance shows because they are a pretty loud and high energy band so they’ve decided to lay low and write. Check out a few of their tunes below!

FEATURE SONGS!

Nothing To Lose

This video was filmed with local musicians fighting in a back alley for gigs. Pretty funny and creative as they used several other local musicians in the creation of it. Know some of them?  https://youtu.be/txS19gLV9SY

Political references seem to fit in with some of the recent debate with Trump and social greed power types. Check it out here!

Show some love for our very own Kelowna based band and share the feature here for them as they get set for the next release of a new song and video within the next month! Great job boys. 🙂

Chance Of Flurries was filmed in the Okanagan with all local cast and crew and edited by Nori Wentworth.

The full album was recorded by Travis Saunders in the dungeons of The Broken Heart’s Club.

I had a sneak peak of the upcoming song and video and I’m pretty excited for you all to check it out. All local actors and production.

All of these guys are not only great, talented musicians but, they all successful business men who take they business of music and personal businesses very serious. Mark your calendars and show the boys some love by liking and sharing their new upcoming release. I know they would really appreciate it while we all get through these crazy times of minimal live shows. 😉
