Kelowna Yacht Club Boat Show, presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union this Saturday & Sunday
The 22nd Annual Kelowna Yacht Club Boat Show, presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, is taking place this weekend, Saturday, April 29 from 10 am – 5 pm and Sunday, April 30 from 10 am – 4 pm. Regarding this year’s event, General Manager Sally Howard shared, “We’re going to be kicking off the boat show with a bang this year! Kelowna Yacht Club has been chosen as one of the locations within Kelowna to fly the commemorative Canada 150 flag. In recognition of this special occasion we will be holding a flag-raising ceremony, complete with bagpipes and a cannon salute. It’s a great honour to have been chosen and the ceremony is a fantastic way to start the weekend.” The flag-raising ceremony will take place between 9:45 am and 10 am on Saturday, April 29 before the gates open at 10 am for the boat show.Set on Okanagan Lake, the Kelowna Yacht Club Boat Show, presented by Valley First, is one of the largest in Canada set on the water. It attracts over 10,000 people annually with its wide range of exhibitors, from new and used boats to fun water sport activities. This year will feature over 50 exhibitors and 150 boats on show.Entry to the Boat Show is by donation and proceeds support the Kelowna Yacht Club Youth Sailing Program. All profits from exhibitor entry fees are returned to the community through the provision and on-going maintenance of the public safe-mooring buoys located on Okanagan Lake. These buoys serve as temporary mooring stations where you can tie your boat while enjoying a day on the lake or take refuge during a storm.
