However, our scope isn’t limited to just music; we also cover a diverse range of topics, including sports, arts and culture, and community happenings. Our mission is to provide our audience with engaging, insightful, and entertaining content that showcases the vibrant spirit of the Okanagan.
Role and Responsibilities: As a Contributing Writer / Content Creator, you will be an integral part of our content team, responsible for creating compelling and engaging articles that resonate with our audience. Your main responsibilities will include:
Event Coverage: Attend and cover various music events, concerts, sports competitions, and other cultural happenings within the Okanagan region.
Content Creation: Produce high-quality, well-researched, and creative articles across various topics, with a primary focus on music events and supplementary coverage of sports, current events, arts, and community stories.
Interviews and Profiles: Conduct interviews with local musicians, artists, sports personalities, and community figures to share their inspiring stories.
Content Planning: Collaborate with the editorial team to brainstorm and plan content ideas that align with Gonzo Okanagan’s vision and mission.
Social Media Engagement: Engage with our audience on social media platforms, responding to comments and promoting your content.
Requirements: To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Location: Reside in the Okanagan region, British Columbia, with a good understanding of the local culture, events, and community.
Experience: Have at least 2 years of proven experience in writing, blogging, journalism, or content creation, preferably with a focus on music events or related topics.
Passion: Demonstrate a genuine passion for music, arts, culture, and community events, with a strong desire to share stories that resonate with our audience.
Writing Skills: Showcase excellent writing skills, including grammar, spelling, and the ability to convey information in an engaging and accessible manner.
Adaptability: Be adaptable and able to cover diverse topics beyond music, contributing to a well-rounded content platform.
Time Management: Work independently as a freelance contributor, managing your schedule effectively to meet deadlines and produce consistent content.
