DKA brings back Small Shop – Support Local
The Downtown Kelowna Association (DKA) is pleased to bring back Small Shop Saturday on September 24, 2022.
In celebration of the event, participating Downtown Kelowna businesses will feature special incentives, in-store promotions, or one-day sales from 10am-6pm.
Visitors to Downtown can easily identify those businesses by looking for large “Small Shop – Support Local” window decals that will be displayed at each participating location.
While Small Shop Saturday includes sales and special offers, the promotion’s focus is truly on how much small businesses contribute to our regional economy. Supporting locally owned businesses helps fight inflation, keeps dollars and jobs in our community, and adds to the vibrancy, diversity, and livability of Downtown Kelowna.
“Supporting local businesses is more important now than ever before,” says DKA Executive Director, Mark Burley. “As we continue to recover from the last two years, we’re happy to once again present Small Shop Saturday this weekend. Enjoy walking outside in the fresh air and visiting businesses throughout Downtown Kelowna as you do so.”
Those visiting Downtown Kelowna this Saturday will have the chance to win over $400 in prizes in the Small Shop/Big Deals Contest. Up for grabs are prizes from Downtown Kelowna businesses including Amora Day Spa, frock & fellow, Funktional Gifts, Mosaic Books, Kelly O’Bryan’s, Kelowna Beer Institute, and Naughty Girl Essentials Lingerie.
A total of four (4) prize draws will be made on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, with the winners announced on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, on the DKA website and through our social media channels.
Small Shop Saturday brochures, which list all participating merchants, are available at each location and online. Thanks to the City of Kelowna for providing free parking Downtown on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Free parking will be available on-street and in City-owned parking lots and parkades, from 10am to 6pm; time restrictions remain in effect.
