Please join us for our musical celebration of the festive season, as we welcome tenor Ken Lavigne and the Okanagan Children’s Choir for concerts that will bring us all comfort and joy.If you are bringing the children, or you prefer not to drive in the evening, note that Vernon’s performance for this show is a 2:00 matinee! The consummate entertainer, Ken Lavigne has charmed his way into the hearts of concert goers across North America with his exciting blend of classical tenor sound and modern style. A frequent collaborator with David Foster and a founding member of The Canadian Tenors, Ken was recognized early for the outstanding timbre of his lyric tenor voice as well as the ease and agility with which he sings. “Ken has a gorgeous voice and charming stage presence, and I am so excited to share the stage with him. We have crafted a concert that will absolutely bring us all comfort and joy,” says OSO Music Director Rosemary Thomson.

“I love so many things about the holiday season, the eggnog, the lights but I especially love the music and all the memories that come from this time of year So excited to perform with the OSO and the Okanagan Children’s Choir,” enthuses Ken. OSO timpanist Dominique Bernath worked with Ken in his days with the Canadian Tenors. “He is 100% charm with a voice of silk. Not to be missed,” she says.Selections on the COMFORT & JOY program range from the sacred and serene, to the fun-filled and joyful. With the joint forces of the Orchestra, Ken Lavigne and the Children’s Choir (performing separately and together), you will be immersed in the seasonal music you love: songs of the angels and of a quiet Christmas night, traditional audience sing-along carols, and upbeat holiday favourites like “Let It Snow,” “Blue Christmas,” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” We will also present newer arrangements including tunes from your favourite animated Christmas stories, and uplifting arrangements by David Foster.

Bring the whole family — this concert is guaranteed to put us all in the holiday spirit. Tickets for Kelowna and Penticton are available through the KCT Box Office at 250.469.8940; for Vernon, contact Ticketseller at 250.549.7469.
