Big White Ski Resort Opens New State-of-the-Art Central Reservations Facility
Big White Ski Resort Ltd. and Big White Central Reservations Ltd. proudly announce the grand opening of their new flagship facility at 300 Happy Valley Road.
This $5.5 million development significantly enhances the resort’s commitment to guest services and improves the visitor arrival and departure experience.
On Thursday, December 14, Sharen Gibbs, the Director of the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary Electoral Area E/West Boundary, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the grand opening of the building, alongside Peter Plimmer, President and CEO of Big White Ski Resort Ltd., and other dignitaries including the building’s designer renowned architect Hugh J. Bitz and the ownder and operator of West Bay Construction, Duncan Robinson who completed the project.
The new building boasts a range of features aimed at elevating the visitor experience, including:
Front Desk Lobby:Â This welcoming space features elegant high ceilings, a cozy fireplace, and six efficient check-in stations, ensuring a smooth and pleasant arrival experience for guests.
Guest Lounge:Â A relaxed, comfortable lounge area equipped with showers and bathrooms, TVs and free Wifi, ideal for guests skiing or boarding on check-out day.
Luggage Storage:Â Safe and secure luggage storage conveniently by the Guest Lounge.
Increased Guest Parking:Â Designed to facilitate an easy check-in and check-out experience from Happy Valley, the new area allows guests to commence and conclude their stay easily and comfortably.

In August 2023, the resort launched an Electronic Vehicle Charging station funded by the Province of British Columbia through the CleanBC Go Electric Public Charger Program located at this new building. This initiative includes 100kW 200A rapid charging stations at the new building, underscoring the resort’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
