Vancouver International Guitar Festival presents Boutique Guitar Showcase
With just over two months to go, momentum is gathering for the 4th Vancouver International Guitar Festival with luthiers, performers and aficionados from across the continent signing up to attend and exhibit their finest.

An exciting addition to the festival is the internationally celebrated BOUTIQUE GUITAR SHOWCASE, one of the most popular annual features of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) in Anaheim, California.
Curated by guitar industry insider Jamie Gale, the Boutique Guitar Showcase tours the world with a collection of 50 extraordinary handmade guitars, selected by Gale to demonstrate the cutting edge of contemporary luthiery.
“In addition to 60 of the world’s finest luthiers, VIGF is privileged to present this unique showcase,” says producer Shaw Saltzberg. “Jamie Gale’s exhibit will fascinate and inspire guitar fans who have never seen, let alone played, instruments at this level of artistry and innovation.”
Gale will accompany his exhibition and join the VIGF teaching roster, offering a master class on design and marketing of boutique instruments.
“This is the first time we will present in Western Canada,” says Gale, “and we’re excited to share this rare moment in history with the people of Vancouver. Many of these unique guitars will never be seen on public display again. It’s an opportunity not to be missed!”
Along with all the instruments shown at VIGF, Gale’s collection will be available to be played and purchased.
Along with an expanded curriculum of guitar-building workshops, the popular Time Out Bar will be back this year, offering rare close-up concerts by VIGF’s international roster of recording artists, free with festival admission. But the main event will be on the exhibition floor, with master luthiers displaying acoustic and electric instruments including ukuleles and basses. Also available for purchase: tone wood, tools and accessories to the luthier trade.
