THE STANDSTILLS ANNOUNCE CANADIAN TOUR DATES FOR FALL 2016

ON THE ROAD WITH I MOTHER EARTH AND OUR LADY PEACEToronto, ON – August 15th, 2016 – The Standstills don’t live up to their band name. In fact, the Oshawa, ON natives do exactly the opposite. They’re a force of nature on stage, and are about to launch a string of Canadian tour dates with I Mother Earth and Our Lady Peace, kicking things off in Winnipeg, MB on October 6th (see full tour dates below).A powerful duo comprised of guitarist-vocalist, Johnny Fox, and drummer-singer, Renee Couture, The Standstills deliver a unique strain of rock and roll. Their fourth EP, Out From The Devil’s Porch, was released last summer on eOne Music Canada, and is a fine blend of “juke-joint hoodoo, British blues bombast, cowbell-thwack boogie and modern-rock swagger”. The follow-up to their 2012 release, Pushing Electric, the EP was produced by James Robertson and mixed by Juno award-winner, Eric Ratz, it is a clear definition of the Standstills bold, brash energy. You can stream the album here.Fox displays a great selection of riffs, and there’s an array of features on the album. From Canadian blues icon, Paul Reddick, to Arkells keyboardist, Anthony Carone, collaborations are highlights. Lyrically, the album is interpretive. Live, it’s all about engaging the crowd.“That’s what we’ve learned from all the shows we’ve played and how we’ve seen crowds react. When we hit that groove and see everybody get locked in with us, that’s it. That’s exactly what we want to do and where we want to be,” Fox says. “That’s doing it right. Hitting that groove and taking that simpler approach makes everything way stronger. When people hear us for the first time and find out we’re a duo, they find it shocking that we create such a big sound.”Now, the Standstills will hit the road with Canadian rock icons, Our Lady Peace and I Mother Earth, giving the country a taste of their unstoppable force. Be sure to catch the Standstills when they’re in your town!TOUR DATES:August 26th – Whoop-Up Days Festival – Lethbridge, ABAugust 27thn – 97.7 HTZ FM The Biggs and Barr BQ – St. Catharines, ONOctober 6th – Burton Cummings Theatre – Winnipeg, MB*October 7th  – O’Brian’s Event Centre – Saskatoon, SK*October 14th – Commodore Ballroom – Vancouver, BC*October 15th – Abbotsford Centre – Abbotsford, AB >October 16th – Prospera Place – Kelowna, BC >October 17th – Revolution Place – Grand Prairie, AB>October 19th – Grey Eagle Resoirt & Casino – Calgary, AB >October 20th – Shaw Conference Centre – Edmonton, AB >October 21st – Canalta Centre – Medicine Hat, AB >October 24th & 25th – Massey Hall – Toronto, ON >October 27th – Budweiser Gardens – London, ON >October 28th – TD Place Arena – Ottawa, ON >October 29th – GM Centre – Oshawa, ON >October 31st – Centre in the Square – Kitchener, ON >November 2nd – Scotiabank Centre – Halifax, NS >November 4th – Molson Canadian Centre at Casino New Brunswick – Moncton, NB >November 5th – Casino Rama – Rama, ON >* with I Mother Earth> with I Mother Earth and Our Lady Peace

Brad Krauza - Publisher
Publisher and CEO. First & foremost, father, son, brother and uncle. I am also a huge music fan, promoter and marketing & promotions maniac. As a fulltime musician for the past 35 years myself (yikes, that’s a long time!), I’ve come to appreciate the fact that I am able to perform and sing for people and in return, them enjoy it as much as I do. There is something to be said for that exchange of energy and good vibes that live music brings to all, from the stage to the seats, there is nothing like it and I so look forward to feeling that again when we are out of this crazy mess we are in. Music is needed desperately in everyone’s lives. The goal is to reach out and bring some awareness and light into the music scene by featuring their new music, events and in general, some light into the changes we’ve all had to adjust to in 2020. We all feel the strain in every aspect of these changes and are going to try to do our best to fill our cups up with some fantastic local music while many so of us hang on through this bumpy ride we are on. ? Making an effort to change our own thoughts and habits, can strike a chord mentally and change us along with our communities lives. Be safe and…let’s ROCK N ROLL!
