Seventy cars expected at Nostalgia Wines 9th annual Show, Shine n’ Wine Classic Car Show

Hot rods, classics, food trucks, drink garden, rockabilly band and more hosted at Oliver winery Saturday, June 8

Rev up your engines and come down to Nostalgia Wines on Saturday, June 8 from noon to 5 p.m. for a fun day of street rods, custom classics, muscle cars and more for their 9th annual Show, Shine ‘n’ Wine Classic Car Show.

Wheelgrinders

There will be live music from Vancouver and France based rockabilly band The Wheelgrinders. The band will play three sets over the course of the afternoon, starting at 12:30, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Bring your appetite with food trucks Law of Attraction Creations Inc. and Pit Stop Smokery as well as a drink garden with Nostalgia Wines and Firehall Brewery. Don’t forget the always-entertaining Pin Up Girl Contest, at 3 p.m. sharp.

The day is also a fundraiser for Rotary Club of Oliver. Come prepared to support these fundraising efforts through prize draws and entry by donation.

Nostalgia Wines said close to 70 classic cars have registered to come, so guests carpooling is a great plan. Or get a drop off / pick up. Rotary volunteers will be helping park guests in the vineyard, so keep an eye out for them.

Nostalgia Wines owner and winemaker Gina Harfman is a huge classic car fan and has owned several and dreams of owning more. Her love for hot rods is so big that the label of Boogie Woogie White features a 1932 Ford. The classic cars featured on Nostalgia’s Pin Up Tier labels were all chosen by Gina. They are sometimes cars she’s had in her collection, or they are cars she covets for her collection in future. A 1932 Ford, aka “Deuce,” on the The Girls label is a car Gina has always coveted.

Saturday is going to be beautiful and sunny so here are some ways to make sure you take in all the Show N Shine and Wine has to offer.

HOT TIPS – WHAT TO BRING:

  • Cash (for entry by donation to Rotary Club of Oliver)
  • A designated driver – carpooling is best, as parking will be busy
  • Lawn chairs or a blanket to sit and listen to The Wheelgrinders
  • Your pin-up fashion – costume competition at 3 p.m
  • A hat and sunscreen – forecast is sun and 30 C
  • Your children – family-friendly event
  • Your appetite (food trucks on site)
  • A positive attitude and best cheers
  • Strong arms to carry all your Nostalgia Wines home

The event is outdoors, and while your on-leash dog is welcome, please consider how your pooch will do in this environment. There will be a lot of people, live music, rumbling engines, hot sun … and a lot of classic car tires that are strictly off limits for leg-lifting!

Nostalgia Wines is located at 4900 Black Sage Road in Oliver.
