Crooks That Couldn’t Wait for the Whisky Lottery?
Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery is looking for local support to identify the men who broke into their Vernon distillery Saturday morning. The duo arrived at the distillery in a Toyota Tundra/Tacoma at approximately 5 a.m. to take a closer look at a display case, which holds several limited editions of Okanagan Spirits Laird of Fintry Whisky (only available through an annual lottery), before returning to their vehicle.Eight minutes later the two men were witnessed, via surveillance, smashing through the glass door entrance and attempting to break open the display cases at Okanagan Spirits causing thousands of dollars in damage in the process.Spooked by the alarms the crooks did not make off with any whisky but they did make off with a collection of spirits on their exit adding to the cost in damages.A family-owned local business, the owners are saddened by this vandalism and are looking to the public to provide any information they may have using video footage captured from the distillery’s surveillance cameras to identify the men.To download footage, please visit: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jb5oftu3dyttvbj/AABPPVHKChJEI9SuhVNKxw_Oa?dl=0
