Celebrating the Largest Half Corked Marathon Ever!

Last weekend, Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country welcomed over 1,600 participants
to the region, with their family and friends, for the 16th annual Half Corked Marathon

On Saturday May 25th, Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country hosted another successful Half Corked Marathon weekend, drawing a record-breaking 1,600 participants plus their supporters to the region.

Jennifer Busman, Executive Director of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country, commented: “We’re thrilled to see so many people come together to celebrate the spirit of the Okanagan Valley. This event is a unique opportunity to showcase the beauty of the region and the talents of our local winemakers and culinary partners. We couldn’t make it happen without our incredible army of volunteers and the support of our local communities We are already looking forward to next year!”

Full of festivities, the weekend includes the 22km fun run, Party at the Finish Line, and two elegant long table dinners, Primavera Party and Dinner at the Farm.  The Half Corked Marathon route this year showcased the best of the region’s iconic wine-growing areas, starting on the Golden Mile and ending on the Black Sage Road, before participants descend into the Oliver Community Park to the Finish Line for live music, more wine tasting opportunities and a delicious lunch from The Paella Guys. Participants embraced this year’s theme “Now That’s What I Call The 90s!” in full costume as they engaged in tastings along the route, and the beautiful sunny weather and stunning scenery of the day made for a perfect backdrop for this unique race.

Kick starting the weekend with the Primavera Party, guests were hosted in an outdoor setting at Church & State Winery on the Friday evening, for a casual, family-style feast with live music. The dining experience featured a delicious meal prepared by the team at Vancouver’s newly opened Casa Molina, which was paired with locally-grown wine selections and a dessert bar from Osoyoos’ based Sugar Quail Bakeshop.

On Saturday evening, 120 guests enjoyed a delicious, multicourse feast prepared by Chef Hans Stierli at Dinner at the Farm, hosted at Road 13 Vineyards. With sweeping views of the valley from high on the Golden Mile Bench, this elevated, alfresco dinner was the perfect way to mark the end of the weekend.

Stay tuned for Early Bird tickets to the 2025 Half Corked Marathon, coming in July!
