Silver Star Afro-Caribbean Cultural Festival Brings Music, Culture, and Community to the North Okanagan, July 17–19, 2026
Silver Star Mountain Resort, BC — The vibrant rhythms, flavours, and cultural traditions of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora will take center stage in the North Okanagan next summer with the inaugural Silver Star Afro Caribbean Cultural Festival, taking place July 17–19, 2026 at Silver Star Mountain Resort, near Vernon, British Columbia.
Presented by New Vision Music Society, in partnership with Silver Star Mountain Resort and Destination Silver Star, the three-day festival will celebrate Afro-Caribbean culture through live music, dance, food, art, and community programming. Building on the success of the long-running A.C.C.E.S.S. Afro Caribbean Cultural Summerfest in Surrey — which has attracted more than 12,000 attendees annually — the Silver Star event marks an exciting expansion of this nationally recognized cultural celebration.
“This festival is about connection, cultural exchange, and creating space for people to come together through music and shared experiences,” said representatives of New Vision Music Society, the nonprofit organization behind the event. “Bringing this celebration to Silver Star allows us to showcase Afro-Caribbean culture while highlighting the Okanagan as a welcoming, diverse, and world-class destination.”

The Silver Star Afro Caribbean Cultural Festival will feature:
- Live performances from local, national, and international artists
- A vibrant vendors market showcasing food, art, and cultural products

- Friday, July 17: Evening programming
- Saturday, July 18: Full day of performances and activities

Set high in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, Silver Star Mountain Resort offers a unique alpine village setting just 20 minutes from Vernon and less than an hour from Kelowna International Airport, making it an ideal backdrop for a summer cultural destination event.
