Big White Ski Resort Named Business of the Year at Canadian Tourism Awards
Big White Ski Resort has been named Business of the Year at the Canadian Tourism Awards, presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC).
The awards were held Nov. 20, 2025, at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Que., and brought together tourism leaders from across the country.
“As a Canadian family-run business, this is an incredible honour,” said Peter Plimmer, owner and CEO of Big White Ski Resort. “I am humbled by this recognition, and proud to accept it on behalf of our entire team.
“This isn’t achieved by one person. Whether someone has worked at Big White for one season or for 40, I am grateful for their dedication and proud to share this award with them,” he said.
The award is one of 12 national honours that recognize excellence and leadership in the tourism sector. The Business of the Year category highlights organizations that show strong business performance, a high level of customer service and a commitment to supporting Canadian tourism.
The Canadian Tourism Awards have been presented by TIAC for more than 40 years. They recognize achievements, leadership and creativity in delivering outstanding visitor experiences across the country. This year’s program received more than 100 nominations from individuals, businesses and organizations across Canada.
