Downtown Kelowna Winter Street Market & Light Up Returns Saturday, Dec. 2
The Downtown Kelowna Association (DKA) is kicking off the Holiday Season this Saturday, December 2 with the return of the Winter Street Market & Light Up.
From 11am-5pm at Stuart Park, Water Street will be lined with artisan and market vendors complimented by live entertainment and free family activities. Free ice skating will be available at Stuart Park, and Light Up will be at 5:30pm sharp.
Visitors to the Market can enjoy hot chocolate, available by donation, with proceeds going to the Central Okanagan Food Bank. Anyone looking to escape the cold for a few moments can drop by the Leopold’s Tavern “Warm Up Station.”
Santa will be at the event from 11am-5pm for Photos With Santa, presented by ATB Wealth. All pre-booked photo reservations are full, but walk-ups are welcome.
The mainstage in Stuart Park will feature live entertainment beginning at 3pm, culminating with the lighting of the Downtown Kelowna Christmas Tree at 5:30pm. Santa and local dignitaries will be on hand to flip the switch at Light Up, presented by FortisBC.
Other activities will be hosted onsite by Big White Ski Resort and Sportball Okanagan; satellite activities include visiting the Festival of Trees at the Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, and the Kelowna Art Gallery is hosting a lantern-making activity from 11am-4pm.
Water Street, between the Doyle and Queensway roundabouts, will be closed from 6am to 8:30pm to accommodate the event.
Parking: The first two hours of on-street parking is free every Saturday in December. Drivers must still register the license plate at the meter, but payment is not required for the first two hours. Other time restrictions still apply. Parking is also available at no charge every Saturday and Sunday in the Library, Chapman, and Memorial Parkades.
Transit: Fares for all trips originating within the City of Kelowna are waived every Saturday in December 2023 ( Dec 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30).
