Charity benefit concert to support young adult mental health
Third Space Charity is holding its Inaugural Charity Benefit Concert on November 22, 2023, to raise funds for young adult mental health.
The event will take place at Red Bird Brewing and will feature music by emerging country folk artist Dawson Gray. “As someone who has dealt with mental health issues throughout my years, I know first-hand how important it is to have a support system. However, for many young adults money is tight, and it isn’t always easy to find proper help. With the efforts of organizations like Third Space Charity, my hope is that we can continue to better provide safe spaces for young adults to turn to when in need,” says Gray.
“The total number of young people in our country that are at risk of developing depression is a staggering 3.2 million. At the Charity, we recognize that safe, supportive spaces where mental health resources are accessible are critical to the resilience of our community and the young people in it”, says Megan Woodruff, Executive Director of Third Space Charity.
The event goes from 6pm-9pm and will include a live auction and a dollar-for-dollar matching campaign up to $15,000 sponsored by Nicola Wealth.
Evan Turner, Wealth Advisor with Nicola Wealth, states “Nicola Wealth has a deep-rooted philanthropic emphasis, and we believe in fostering a culture of giving inside and outside of the firm. Third Space Charity’s services align directly with the charitable difference we are looking to make in the world. As Kelowna is a community we operate in, we identified Third Space as a high impact, community-based charity we believe will provide important benefits to the community members it serves. Thank you, Third Space Charity, for making a real difference in mental health and in our community!”
Third Space Charity builds capacity and supports community mental health through an
internship practicum program for clinical counsellors in training and accessible, supportive care counselling services for young adults between the ages of 18 and 29. Services are available on a pay-what-you-can basis for those who wish and are able to. For those who aren’t, counselling is free.
You are invited to come out and listen to some great music, hang out with some good people and help in the mission to build mental health and resiliency in our local young adults. $25 concert tickets are now on sale and available for purchase here: https://trellis.org/friendsfamily-benefit-concert-ft-dawson-grey
