The Okanagan Winter Wine Festival: Creating memorable January experiences in Wine Country

After a short pause in Summer and Fall this year, the Okanagan Wine Festivals is ready to launch the The Okanagan Winter Wine Festival’s inaugural series of programming!

Big White Ski Resort – Dec. 9-10

Join us at Big White Ski Resort on December 9 and 10 for the kick off!

The Okanagan Wine Festivals new strategic direction is focused on partnerships with key destination stakeholders like Big White Ski Resort.

The partnership with Big White will focus on BC VQA wines during their ever-popular Big Reds at Big White weekend. December 9, The Magic of Meritage will highlight Meritage inspired wines, followed by the Elevation Grand Tasting on Saturday. Big White partners are featuring winemakers’ dinners and tasting menus and showcasing Festival wineries.

Predator Ridge – Jan. 22

Moving into January, the Okanagan Wine Festivals will partner with Predator Ridge to deliver a Burgundy inspired event on January 22 again featuring festival partners well known for their Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs.

Penticton Trade and Convention Centre – Jan. 27

The grande finale takes place January 27 and 28 with partners in Penticton and Oliver. Valley First presents Sensation- An Eve for the Senses on January 27. The Travel Penticton sponsored event will take place at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre and will feature wine and culinary pairings created with contrasting and complimentary to tease the senses.

The District Wine Village – Jan. 28

On Saturday, January 28th the Okanagan Winter Wine Festival will move south to The District Wine Village in Oliver. In partnership with Oliver Tourism, The District Wine Village and The Okanagan Wine Festival will present Winterfest at the District.

The afternoon’s programming will include District partners as well as festival wineries showcasing curated experiences as part of the TASTE Passport. This is the pilot weekend for the festival’s newest program the TASTE Passport.

Each TASTE Passport includes six vouchers which are redeemed for an elevated tasting experience from the participating beverage partners. This is a one stop tasting experience unique to the Winterfest program.

“The launch of the Okanagan Winter Wine Festival is long overdue. The Okanagan Valley’s wine industry is positioned to help build shoulder season visitation alongside our partner stakeholders. Extended visitation and audience reach has a substantial impact on local economy, particularly during the winter months. The time is right, and the Okanagan Wine Festival is committed to a festival re-imagined” says Kimberly Hundertmark, General Manager.

All tickets are available through thewinefestivals.com.
