Rising Rock Act Texas King Releases New Single

“Whatever You Break”

Announces National Spring Tour and Signing with Rock Indie Label Known Accomplice

Toronto, ON – Today, London, Ontario’s Texas King release their brand new single “Whatever You Break” via Known Accomplice to all streaming platforms.

With over 5.5 million total streams under their belt, Texas King’s new release marks a movement into the band’s biggest and boldest era yet. A driving power ballad, “Whatever You Break” continues to encapsulate the warmth and honesty that is signature to the band’s alt-rock outpourings. The song was produced by Brian Moncarz (Yukon Blonde, Moneen, OLP) and recorded at The Tragically Hip’s legendary Bathouse Studio just outside of Kingston, Ontario.

“This new song is about the constant struggle in life to escape from and set boundaries with the relationships in our lives that are toxic, whether it be a family member, a lover or an old friend,” says Texas King vocalist Jordan MacDonald. “Because you still care, they draw you back in. This song is about that vicious cycle.”

Texas King have also announced that they will embark on a national Canadian tour this Spring, bringing their high energy live show to 20 cities across the country. The single release and tour announcement come as the band announced they’d inked a deal with Known Accomplice, the go-to indie label serving rock and related genres in Canada and currently home to Sam Roberts BandThe TrewsHeadstonesExcuses ExcusesMoist and We Were Sharks.

“Texas King embodies everything we love about music and amazing bands,” says Cadence Music Group / Known Accomplice VP of Marketing Jeff Nedza. “A high-energy show that always feels like a wild house party, contagious hooks and melodies that stick with you and those honest, heartfelt lyrics that Jordan delivers in a way that just connects. The talent in this band is absolutely exceptional and we’re thrilled to welcome Texas King into the family!”

The soundtrack to your favourite memories, Texas King have put 250,000 miles into their van over the past decade – touring all over North America alongside acts like Big Wreck, Last Dinosaurs, and The Glorious Sons – and there’s thousands more miles to go. Since 2013, they’ve been cutting their teeth on the road and in the studio, so far releasing one album and two EPs that capture the show- stopping passion they’ve brought to stages that include Vancouver’s Ambleside Festival, Ontario’s ParkJam and Hillside Festivals, and Québec’s Festival D’été.
