If you’re looking to stay smiling, staying as positive as possible in these tough times and just want to feel good, The Oot n’ Oots music is what you need in your life.
I love the innocents, joy, positiveness and humour in all that this group has put together in their music and, what a great memory to last a lifetime and for it to be a local family band creating it! Absolutely love everything about this talented, down to earth, family band. I actually feel good and uplifted after listening to their music. There is something to be said for that gift they are creating for us all. Go follow them at the links at the bottom. Now added to my playlists! ~ Brad
About The Oot n’ Oots
CFMA and WCMA nominated the Oot n’ Oots play wildly imaginative music, brimming with humour and inspiration. The band is fronted by 13-year-old vocalist Ruth Cipes with her dad Ezra and uncles Ari, Gabe, and Matthew. Ruth trades lead vocals with Ari and Ezra. To paraphrase Jerry Garcia, this is all-ages music that is not for kids only.
“We’re really happy to put some good vibes into the world right now. We want everyone who watches this video to be able to see themselves in it, expressing gratitude and being joyful. That’s the world we want to live in. My daughter Ruth (now 13 years old, but 12 when she recorded this vocal) sings this one. For the video we had our friends from all over the world contribute footage for, including folks you’ll recognize from the Canadian arts community and artists from around the world, like Ugandan hip-hop pioneer Babaluku, Flor Bromley from New Work via Peru, and Ezra and Noah Beaton, two awesome young friends of ours from Gitxsan territory. Hopefully this song and video can contribute a small bit of healing inspiration in this singularly fraught moment in history. – The Oot n’ Oots
