The 2nd Annual GonzoOkanagan.com Music Industry Golf Tournament & Festival Supports MusiCounts for Music Education in the Okanagan.
Kelowna, BC. – Gonzo Okanagan will hold its 2nd Annual Music Industry Golf Tournament & Festival Event on June 14th of 2019 at the Sunset Ranch Golf Club in Kelowna, BC.
This year’s event will be in support of MusiCounts, who is planning to expand their presence in the Okanagan through their school and community music programs.
“We want to thank Gonzo Okanagan for their support and are honored to be the beneficiary of this year’s event,” said Kristy Fletcher, Executive Director, MusiCounts. “The funds raised will assist us in putting instruments into the hands of children who need them most.”
MusiCounts has several programs that focus on supporting music education for youth in Canada. The MusiCounts Band Aid Program provides instruments to school curriculum music programs, they also provide instruments to community-based music programs through the MusiCounts TD Community Music Program, recognize exceptional teachers with the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award, and they provide music scholarships for post-secondary music education.
Brad Krauza, CEO of Gonzo Okanagan, states, “I am extremely pleased to be contributing to MusiCounts and making them our recipient for our 2019 event. It’s the perfect fit for our music industry golf tournament & festival, and for our community. We are looking forward to what we can create this year and, in the years, to come!”
The inaugural event, which took place in June of 2018, was an astounding success, with a sold-out tournament, and a rockin’ concert with headliner’s Honeymoon Suite. Krauza explains, “It’s all about good positive vibes and great music all day and night for a great cause.” Music is played through-out the golf course, with music on every tee box. “Our mission is to do something a bit different when it comes to golf tournaments. We are turning the golf course into a festival ground with a beverage garden for the awards, and a concert.”
The 2018 event raised just over $10,000 in cash and donations that went to a local Okanagan single mother of 3 young children who was struggling financially with taking care of her youngest child with Alexanders Disease, a progressive neurological disease.
